Trevor's Big Day

Trevor had a great birthday this year, AND he was baptized. He chose to have a family party even though he could have had friends over (he steals my heart!). We've made the cake part of our tradition, partly because I'm too cheap to buy expensive store bought cakes, and partly because my kids think it is so fun to decorate their own cakes. He put a giant 8 on his cake.
He choose to have a dinner of his favorites: waffles and brown sugar bacon. Then we all went rock climbing (even Baily got a turn and loved it, she's so much like him!)
The following Saturday his Dad baptized him. He had to go under 3 times, but they got it right eventually! We finished by going out to lunch at Winger's (his favorite). Trevor is such a sweet heart and brings so much fun to our family. He is so kind to his little sisters and shows them a lot of patience. We sure love this little guy!!! Now I'm wiping a tear away thinking about how big he is:(

When it's yucky outside . . .

When it's yucky outside I like to play with pictures from a warmer time:) Makes me feel a little better with the winter blues!

Christmas 2010

Slowly, slowly getting to the Christmas pictures. We had such a great time this year. It is so fun to have little ones on Christmas; making sugar cookies, sledding, watching the kids get so excited to give each other the gifts they worked on, ice skating. We emailed Santa and asked him to come a day early since we were leaving on Christmas day to go to Colorado to visit our families. Much to the relief of the kids, Santa was able to stop by early and deliver a lot of fun things to everyone.

My favorite picture from Christmas! Trevor and Taylor were so excited to set out the special cookies they had reserved for Santa. These cookies were LOADED with toppings and frosting, I bet Santa really enjoyed those!:)

Visiting Santa

I love that my city here has a drive-thru Santa. You drive up, no line/waiting, get the kids out to talk for a second, take a picture, the kids get a candy cane, then you get back in your warm car and go home. It's great. What's not great is when you've finished all your shopping and you take your kids to see Santa and they tell him something completely different than they've put on the 3 letters they sent to Santa. That's not so great, good thing my kids aren't too picky!:)

Sledding

We had a great snow storm that left a lot of snow in it's wake a week or so ago. The kids had a great time sledding and playing in it. At first Baily was kind of wimpy about playing outside in it, but once she figured it all out, I haven't been able to keep her inside. She asks me every day when we are going somewhere, "I play in snow?", even though it has all melted and is gone. She would ONLY wear her snow suit with out any clothing underneath it! I tried and tried to convince her it would be warmer to leave her clothes on, but she insists and I usually give in. She is VERY independent minded! We have a mini hill right in our backyard and this is where I took these pictures. The first day it snowed I took the kids to a hill by their school. I played with Payton in the car while I watched Trevor and Taylor sled down a big hill, and Baily stomp around in the snow getting in the way of all the other kids trying to sled down. As I was watching them I thought, "I really do have the best job ever!" I love this part of winter!

Thanksgiving 2010

We had a great time on Thanksgiving this year. Although we miss being by any family members, we manage to have a great time with our crew! There is something very fun about playing all day with my kids in our comfy clothes, not having to worry about cleaning the house, and cooking whatever we want!

The kids and I had a blast making pies, Jon and Baily watching the parade on TV, and Taylor being a Rockette! So thankful for my little family this year!
